After our long walk downhill, lunch Nd the 90 degree day we opted for a nice air conditioned siesta in our rooms. At 6:30 we got together again and first visited the tomb of Ferdinand and Isabelle at the cathedral. From there we took a van to the top of the Arab quarter for a sunset view and lighting of the Alhambra. While there we visited a local mosque just before evening prayer. A very serene and pleasant experience.
After the palace was lot and we had taken a few hundred photos we walked downhill, found a small plaza and dinner. A great little Arab restaurant served us lamb chops, large shrimp and vegetarian skewers.
Following dinner we continued our walk desperately trying to not get lost, wandered side streets and allies and eventually found our hotel. It was marvelously exacting day...Leopard style!
The continuing adventures of Tom and Bobbie Lucido and the World Travel Club...this year we descend upon the Mediterranean starting in Madrid. We will travel through Andalusia to Portugal. Flying to Casablanca we travel to Marrakech before departing for Munich where we will spend a day exploring before catching our continuing flight to Turkey. Next we will board a Greek Isle cruise. We’ll visit ancient Greece before ending our nine week journey in Egypt and Jordan.
