La Alhambra - castle of kings and queens

An early morning and a long walk uphill to the top of the city found us at the meeting place for our private guided tour of the palaces and gardens.

Our guide was Ignacio "Nacho" and was WONDERFUL! Four the next five hours we walked through magnificent gardens and buildings. The Arab architecture was stunning with decorative tile, mosaics, and plaster grillwork.

Just when we thought we had seen the best, something even more special was around the next corner. Highlights were the lion fountain, the sultan's palace and the fortress.

We said goodbye to Nacho and visited theiseum before walking downhill for lunch in the plaza.
