Our last night in Cairo

We all gathered in the lobby at 6:30 and met our driver, Emad, Remon and Maged. A bus ride across town, being careful to avoid the Tahir Square area (smile), got us to a lovely floating restaurant on the Nile appropriately called "The Fish Market." Kathryn had discovered it online and it came highly recommended.

We enjoyed the traditional assortment of starters-eggplant, peppers, okra, olives, tahini, tomatoes, etc, etc! Then came a fish soup brimming with fish, shrimp, and calamari. Next was fried calamari and boiled shrimp. Then we went to the ice slab and selected our individual fish which was served grilled with veggies and potatoes.

Oh, and not that anyone had room, but they all ordered desert! Tomorrow we leave bright and early for Sharm el Shek and some time at a Red Sea resort.
