And the Oracle says.....

This morning several of us mailed a box of found treasures back home. No bags to check and no lugging the extra pounds.

We departed the hotel early to be the first in line at Delphi. It was a short drive up to the sanctuary. We stopped for some photos of the valley floor well below us.

We were the first at the site and explored for two hours. Alex gave us a great overview lecture and pointed put some areas of particular interest before setting us loose. Many of us climbed to the top to view the stone seated stadium. Really grand!

Next up was the archeological museum of the site. We were hoping for another surprise as in Olympia. And...we we not disappointed! They have found and preserved SO MUCH!

The two masterpieces of the museum were the marble statue of Hadrian's lover and the ONLY fully intact (the missing arm is being restored) bronze statue ever found in archeological history. Very cool!

...and it's only 11:00 am.
