In the middle of the mushroom desert our safari guides set up camp on the sand. They circled the rovers and set up a canvas windbreak, built a fire, tents, and started dinner. The mood was jovial with the help of warm Egyptian beer and good wine. We told stories and reminisced about the events of the day. In the pitch black darkness of the desert, the tapestry of stars peaked out from the cloud cover to mesmerize us to sleep. A poet is born.
Prologue: We made it through the night, a zillion stars blazing bright. We were visited by desert fox and other critters of the night as their tracks on the sand told. In the morning light we saw a few more fox still hunting as the sun rose above the horizon. Our charming fellows said their morning prayers, made us breakfast, and broke camp.
