Athens-our last day

It's raining. In fact it's pouring and had been since midnight when the austerity vote took place and passed. The Greek skies are crying over yet additional, but necessary cuts. There's a lot more to this story as we have heard over the past several days.

We have a free morning before transferring to the airport for our flight to Cairo. Time to dig out the umbrellas and head over to the archeological museum. Who knows, maybe we'll drop in at Syntagma Square and help carry a few protest signs! Ah, the 60's. Stay tuned.

Epilogue: The museum was awesome with a collection of bronzes dating back to the 8th century BC. The gold jewelry and other tomb finds were stunning. We lucked out and were able to see the special exhibit of the newly discovered ship with a lot of treasure. Afterward we returned to the hotel and had lunch at our favorite local gyros spot. Our driver came a bit early and we were taken to the airport. The TSA was tough on Bobbie and took most of her hair products. She was a "bit" upset!
