Otherwise known as Munich to us gringos. Up at 9 and out the door to explore as much as possible in the six hours we have before catching our flight to Turkey
With Hans in the lead we started out on foot for the city center. We crossed the Isar river, the same one that runs through Hans' family workshop 40 km north of the city.
We then saw the main square with the clock and the mechanical dancing figures. That was fun. Every 15 minutes all of the churches would sound off their bells...sort of a contest of bells. It was really cool. Then lunch-see the next entry.
After lunch we walked over to the university and listened to many musicians playing in the gardens. We stopped for a treat and a beer before heading back to the hotel. There we packed a satchel of souvenirs to store for Hans' return in December. Ah, a lighter load to carry (more room for more stuff -:) and rode the train back to the airport.
Next stop - Turkey!
